Modular Construction in High Rise Construction

Welcome to a new era of urban living where innovation, efficiency, and sustainability converge.
Introducing modular construction for high-rise buildings – a groundbreaking approach that redefines the way we think about urban architecture.

Huge Time Efficiencies for Commercial and Residential Builds.

Modular construction offers benefits such as reduced construction time, less waste, controlled quality, and potentially lower costs. However, it requires careful coordination, advanced planning, and expertise in logistics to successfully assemble a modular high-rise building.

Building modular high-rises involves constructing tall buildings using prefabricated modules that are manufactured off-site and then assembled at the construction site. This approach offers several advantages, including faster construction times, improved quality control, and reduced disruption to the surrounding area. Here’s an overview of VOLO’s process:

Design and Planning:

    • Architects and engineers design the modular high-rise building using specialized software and tools. They consider factors such as structural integrity, transportation logistics, and assembly sequence.

Module Fabrication:

    • Modular units, or modules, are fabricated in a controlled factory environment. These modules can include anything from complete apartment units to sections of hallways, utility rooms, and more.
    • The modules are built according to precise specifications, ensuring consistency and quality. Interior finishes, fixtures, and even furniture can be included within the modules.

Transportation:

    • Once the modules are completed, they are transported to the construction site. This transportation can involve trucks, trains, or even barges, depending on the location of the construction site.

Site Preparation:

    • The construction site is prepared for module installation. This involves creating a foundation or base where the modules will be placed and assembling the necessary infrastructure, such as utilities and connections.

Module Installation:

    • Cranes are commonly used to lift and position the modules onto the prepared foundation. Each module is carefully aligned and connected to adjacent modules. The connections include structural elements, utilities, and other necessary systems.

Integration and Finishing:

    • Once the modules are in place and connected, workers integrate them to create a seamless building. This includes connecting plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and more.
    • Interior finishing work, such as painting, flooring, and installing fixtures, is carried out to make the building fully functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Exterior Finishing:

    • After the modules are installed and the interior work is progressing, the exterior of the building is completed. This can involve adding facades, cladding, windows, and any other architectural elements to give the building its final appearance.

Final Inspections and Testing:

    • The building undergoes thorough inspections to ensure that it meets safety, building code, and quality standards. Systems are tested to verify their functionality and efficiency.

Occupancy:

    • Once all inspections and tests are passed, the building is ready for occupancy. Residents or tenants can move in and start using the spaces.
